User Interface

Chapter 3
User Interface

zWebit includes a browser based user interface for monitoring and controlling the interfaces. The webbased front end for zWebit is useful for stopping and starting interfaces, viewing logfiles, ptrkeys table maintenance, and general trouble shooting.

Main Menu

Main Menu Categories

There are three categories of functions on the main menu.

View Interfaces

Function View Interfaces is used for reviewing and monitoring interface status. Use this function to determine if interfaces are operational, and to stop and start interfaces. Additional interface information can be reviewed by selecting the interface.

Start and Stop

To stop or start a particular interface, select stop or start.

Interface Status

An interface program may be active or not active. The ptrkeys table entry for the interface can be ON or OFF. In order for the program to actually process data, the ptrkeys table entry must be turned ON and the program must be active.

Selecting an interface will display more information about the interface and provide the ability to update SeqNo, description, and grant ability to turn the interface on and off as shown in the following diagram.

View Log Files

Function View Log Files is used for displaying log file information. The log files grow and are updated constantly while interface programs are operational. To see the most current log files, you may need to hit the reload button on the browser.

View Transactions

Function View Transactions is used to display transactions in the idata table. There are some limited search options at the bottom of the display function that can be used for narrowing the search for specific transactions.

Stop All

Function Stop All will stop all interfaces which are active and have a type of D, I, or O (database, inbound or outbound).

Start All

Function Start All will start all interfaces which are not already running that have a type of D, I, or O and are turned on.

Ptrkeys Maintenance

The Ptrkeys Maintenance Function is used for adding, revising, and deleting ptrkey table entries. Depending on site requirements, this function may need to be secured or removed from the main menu in order to improve system security. Deleting a production system ptrkey table entry will cause the interface to fail.
